Philosophical Musings: Does Time Exist at All?
Philosophers have, over the years, debated on time. It is as much objective as it is subjective. Some say that time, in effect, is just an illusion created by the human mind. While some treat time as only a device for the human brain in segregating events, others interpret its current flow as just a necessity to construct the very texture of existence.
If time were to stand still, it would significantly question our entire perception of reality. For this purpose, what is this thing that does not move, that does not change? Then there exist deeper questions about philosophy: Is time linear, or do all moments of time – past, present, and future – all exist at once? If so, then stopping time means nothing more than stepping outside the flow and viewing the universe from a higher vantage point-you know, like a viewer watching a movie paused on fast forward.
