Bringing the Discovery Home
By the time we went back home, we knew the real treasure that we discovered was not in gold or material things but something more precious-a better understanding of our roots. My father then decided to preserve the journals and letters for future generations to know as well as get a chance to know the man who would shape our family in ways we never knew.
The map, once a simple piece of parchment we would have tucked away in the basement, had led us into our adventure, reconnecting us to the past. Thereby, it reminded us that family stories matter, memories remind us of what unites us, and that we must cherish moments with people whom we love and value.
