A New Map for the Future
Inspired by the discoveries my grandfather made in his journals and by what these discoveries had upon our family, I decided to make my own contribution to this story. I started drawing a new map-one that charted not only places we explored but also memories, dreams, and lessons learned along the way. This map will not chart physical terrain, but it will chart something just as meaningful: moments that make who we are.

Every place I visit is now imbued with a different sense. I hike through trails that have attached to them a note of a conversation that made me rethink my goals, or sit in a city square where my father and I spent hours talking over stories. These personal markers are modern constellations—a guide for memory-worthy moments forming connections between places and emotions that otherwise would get drowned in the muddle of life.
Isn’t it ironic how an ancient map lying in the basement led me from there to chart life itself? This new map is a gift to the coming generations, thus establishing that, even though time keeps passing, stories connect all generations.
