Lessons from the Past, Guidance for the Future
Something very important I learned on this journey is how going back to move forward can really be the most energizing exercise. The stories have helped us look at our family history in a different light, not just as a piece of recorded facts and dates but as a living story, which carries with it emotions, hopes, and dreams. It made me realize that even the challenges my family had faced in the past were stepping stones leading us to where we are today.
It is humbling, realizing you are a part of something much bigger than you are. It gives one’s life a continuum—a sense that you’re carrying on a legacy but also writing your own chapter. And when in doubt or uncertain, those stories from the past serve as sources of strength because they remind you that no one else had it easy either.
