Carrying the Legacy Forward
The discovery of the map changed our approach to our family life. My dad and I agreed that we should write down some of our own stories, memories, and experiences— maybe for someone to read when we are long gone. We saw how even the smallest memory, such as a walk through a park or a handwritten letter, becomes treasures in another’s book one day.
I also promised my grandfather that we will be more adventuresome, so we planned camping trips and visited places from old family photos and vowed to keep telling family stories. We could create each day into memories that would live on forever, our own way of penning the next chapter in our family’s history.
